Care Collective is a grassroots initiative in NJ that is fully student-led, dedicated to restoring dignity and hope for individuals experiencing homelessness by providing essential resources like hygiene kits, clothing, tents, food, water, sleeping bags, and rehab services. We believe that real change starts with compassion, and we're building it together—one student at a time.

Nyshawn Robinson was the first person to join Stephanie Mora on outreach in Hartford, Connecticut. On a 90-degree summer day, they started with nothing but a Walmart cart—filling it with water, snacks, clothing, and hygiene supplies—to share with those in need. No agenda, no camera, no expectation of anything in return, just two good hearts showing up for people others usually overlook.

Care Collective has over 40 student interns who make an impact through online research and in-person event efforts. Their work in identifying areas of severe and immediate need, where to find grants, how to receive tangible donations, and their relentless empathy, has changed the way we typically think of volunteering.
Fueled by compassion and driven by purpose, Care Collective transforms donations into direct action—connecting people in crisis with the essentials they need to live, from nutritious meals to clean clothing and hygiene supplies. But our impact goes beyond meeting immediate needs; every interaction offers a friendly face, a listening ear, and a conversation about the next steps toward stability and hope. Through these connections, we help build a stronger, more caring community where no one is left unseen or unsupported.
